My trusty HD200’s gave up on me last week after providing a thousand years of continuous listening pleasure.
I was devastated! – until I realized that I could get a replacement
speaker for $10, that is! Just plugged the baby in this morning:
everything just pops apart (after some scary prodding with a knife), and
in goes the speaker.
No tools needed. Total price of repair: $10 + $6 S/H. Bliss
